Working Principle and Applications of Pressure Sensors

Jun 16, 2025

The pressure sensor converts the pressure signal of the measured liquid or gas in the pipeline into an electrical signal, and provides real-time pressure monitoring data.

1. Working principle
The pressure of the liquid or gas in the pipeline acts on the sensitive element of our UPX19 silicon pressure sensor, then the strain gauge on the sensitive element deforms under the pressure, which causing the resistance value to change.

The pressure value can be calculated by measuring the resistance change.

2. Applications
For oil and gas pipeline, our UIB6 MODBUS pressure transmitter is used for pressure monitoring of long-distance oil and gas pipelines to ensure transportation safety.
For water supply, our UPB1 silicon pressure transmitter is used for pressure monitoring of urban water supply systems to ensure stable water supply.
In the industrial field, its high precision and reliability are used to control the pressure of chemical pipelines and cooling systems.
