Two Types of Pressure Sensors: Piezoresistive, and Strain Gauge

Piezoresistive and strain gauge types of pressure sensors are used widly in industrial applications.

1. Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor
a) working principle: based on the change in the resistivity of sensitive resistors caused by pressure changes. 

b) advantages: high accuracy at room temperature and low price.

c) popular models: UPB1 silicon pressure transmitter, UPB9 industrial pressure transmitter etc.

2. Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor

a) working principle: based on the change in the geometric dimensions of sensitive resistors caused by pressure changes.

b) advantages: small size, high accuracy, low price.

c) popular models: UPC7 strain gauge pressure transducer, UPB7 strain gauge pressure transmitter etc.
