Common Faults in Pressure Transmitters

Jan 14, 2026

Generally, pressure transmitters experience failures primarily due to the following reasons:

(1) Temperature: Excessively high or low ambient and medium temperatures can adversely affect the performance of pressure transmitters.

(2) Water ingress: Pressure transmitters are often deployed in environments containing water or moisture. Specialized anti-aging connectors should be used to ensure waterproofing, dustproofing, and corrosion resistance.

(3) Electromagnetic interference: Electromagnetic or radio frequency interference can cause transmitter malfunctions, including unstable signals.

(4) Chemical Incompatibility: Corrosive or crystallizing media can damage the pressure transmitter's diaphragm, leading to failure. Therefore, different media require diaphragms and pressure connections made of appropriate materials.

(5) Shock and Vibration: Continuous vibration and frequent shock impacts can impair the transmitter's functionality and performance.

(6) Pressure Overload: Sustained pressure overload will damage the pressure transmitter.
