Flange Type Pressure Transmitter or Common Pressure Transmitter?

May 15, 2023

The principle of flange pressure transmitter and common pressure transmitter is the same, that is, the pressure is converted into a standard electrical signal through a pressure-sensitive element. The difference between the two lies in the way the pressure is measured.

For common pressure transmitters, the measured medium enters the measuring chamber of the transmitter directly through the pressure guiding tube, and the pressure-sensitive diaphragm of the transmitter directly contacts with the medium. At this time, if the measured medium is viscous liquid, it is very easy to block the pressure guiding tube. However, if the capillary tube is used instead of the pressure guiding tube like flange type pressrue transmitter, there will be no clogging. Because the entire structure of the pressure-sensitive diaphragm-capillary-flange diaphragm of the transmitter is sealed, the filling fluid in it is also selected, generally silicone oil, whose volume change with temperature changes is small, and its chemical properties It is stable and will not easily cause phenomena such as freezing and vaporization. Therefore, it is not necessary to add isolation liquid and install auxiliary equipment such as isolators and condensers when measuring special media like ordinary transmitters.
