Advantages of HART Protocol

Jul 29, 2022

The HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) protocol can address the remote sensor high-speed channel open communication protocol.

It is a frequency shift keying (FSK) technology based on the Bell 202 communication standard, which realizes digital communication by superimposing a frequency signal on a 4-20mA current. There are 2 different frequencies: 1200 Hz and 2200H: representing "0" and "1", superimposed on the 4-20mA DC signal in the form of a sine wave, since the average value of these sine waves is zero, no DC component is generated. It will not affect the 4~20rnA process signal, and it completes the real synchronous communication without interrupting the transmission signal.

The characteristics of HART protocol are that it can realize the communication of digital signals on the existing analog signal transmission line, and can provide a risk-free solution for improving the communication between instruments, and has strong market competitiveness in the transition period from the analog system to the digital system.

We UTOP have instruments with HART protocol like ULB-I level transmitter, UTI5 temperature transmitter and UIB1 pressure transmitter for you to choose.
