The Difference between Gauge and Sealed Gauge Pressure Type
Apr 19, 2022
For our pressure transmitters, take UPB1 pressure transmitter for example, when you choose the pressure type before order, you might be confused about the difference between each pressure type.
Let's have a look at the difference between Gauge and Sealed Gauge pressure type this time.
For gauge pressure, the sensor has a tube open to air, so that the sensor can measure the pressure with atmosphere balance. The atmosphere will no effect for the measurement accuracy. The gauge pressure is for pressure range not higher than 25bar.
For sealed gauge pressure, the sensor does not have a tube open to air, but sealed a local atmosphere (factory atmosphere) in the sensor. So the atmosphere changes will have some effect on the measurement accuracy. But for sealed gauge pressure, it is only for high pressure range (higher than 25bar), so the effect will be very small and can be ignored completely.
